Overall my experience in South Korea
was fabulous and amazing. I feel thankful because I can attend student exchange
program in Kangwon National University for fall semester. I have got many
knowledge not only about formal education that I learned in campus itself but
also from people around me. My major in KNU was Tourism Administration but I
also attended class from different major. Subjects that I have learned include
International Trade, English for Business, Tourism English and Korean Language
Level 2. Besides that, I also joined
“Spring Stream” which is an English conversation club in KNU. Within
this club I can increase my speaking ability using English and Korea at the
same time because I practice my conversation with Korean friends in this club.
Furthermore I also attended training program that conducted by Korean
Government which called Saemaul Undong and International Student Festival by
KNU in Aplensia Resort which is famous for ski. In addition, I also joined Indonesian
Student Associaton in South Korea called PERPIKA. Within this association I can
made a link with Indonesian students that pursue their studies in South Korea.
They often held a meeting once per month. Another fabulous things was I can
have many good friends there because I am an outgoing person and I love to make
many friends. I promoted about Indonesian culture and some interesting place in
my homeland and most of my friends consider to visit Indonesia in near future.
Besides my Korean friends, I also made a
bestfriends relationdship with another exchange students from Vietnam, Japan, Thailand,
and Kazakhstan. I often playing around and visit many places with them. They
also taught me about life lessons which is about tolerance, culture
understanding and how to adapt well in different nations. We also exchange our
opinion and thought about our culture and education in our country. KNU also
provided me with buddy program and once again luckily I have a super
responsible buddy. He always helped me and take care of me whenever I have some
difficulties in Chuncheon. We often had a quality time together with another
exchange student for cooking a dinner. Last time I cooked nasi goreng and mie
goreng because one of my Korean friend requested it and the others said that it
was delicious. Some tourism place that I have visited are Gyeongbokgung palace,
Changdeokgung palace, Namsan Tower, Nami Island, Busan, Hongdae, SKY
University, Suwon, and many more. As an exchange student, I think it is not
complete if we didn’t try to have a part time job. When I was in Chuncheon, I
seek an opportunities to have a part time job near my campus but I can’t find
it, but finally I got a chance to do my part time job in Ansan which is located
three hours from Chuncheon. Even though it was tiring but I feel glad because I
can have many experience and meet lots of people there. I was so glad that they
accepted my presence and they treat me very nice. Some other fabulous things
was I can experience fall and snow for the very first time in my whole life. I
was so excited and until now I can’t foget all of my precious experience there.
I hope someday I can go to South Korea again.
